SOMEONE has lit the fuse beneath Newcastle duo DYNAMITE who are set to explode on New Year's Eve at Western Suburbs Leagues Club.
Dynamite is guitarist, blues harmonica player and vocalist AARON HOOD and guitarist, vocalist MATT SEMMENS, who formed the duo eight months ago.
The duo also has gigs this week at Lake Macquarie tavern on Friday night, from 7pm, and Club Phoenix on Saturday night, from 1am until 4am.
'We play everything from THE BEATLES to BLUR and everything in between,' Hood said.
'Everything that's been a hit, from BILLY OCEAN to CREEDENCE, JAMIROQUAI, STEVIE WONDER and BLINK 182.' Hood plays blues harmonica on tracks by NEIL YOUNG, GEORGIA SATELLITES and the song MUSTANG SALLY, trading solos with Semmens.
Forster-born Hood, 35, recently moved back to Newcastle after a musical career that has taken him as far as Perth, and once saw him playing drums for IOTA in the band THONG. Semmens, 23, recently completed a masters degree in classical guitar at the University of Newcastle. TE
