NEWCASTLE'S hardest working rock band LITTLE HORNET will take a well-earned break after the launch this weekend of the group's fifth album THE FIFTH HORNET. After a show tonight at Star City Casino in Sydney, Friday night's show at Maitland Clubhouse Hotel and Saturday night's gig at Fanny's, the band will spend at least a couple of months apart.
Lead singer TYRONE PENSHORN will take a holiday overseas, bass player DEAN KYRWOOD will head into the studio to write some tunes and RUPERT JENNER is looking at pursuing work in the jazz scene.
Meanwhile Hornet drummer COL HATCHMAN has joined THE SCREAMING JETS after CRAIG ROSEVEAR hit the ejector seat button earlier this month.
Hatchman performed his first gig with The Jets at The Castle as preparation for the upcoming fifth album release.
Little Hornet's 15-track CD is the first time Hatchman and Kyrwood have contributed their own songs to a Little Hornet CD.
The CD will include live favourites and some previously unreleased songs.
