Charlestown Gets the Blues

What: Blues Club
Where: Central Charlestown Leagues Club
When: Thursday October 7, 1999

CENTRAL Charlestown Leagues Club has swung back into action with live music on Thursday nights with a BLUES CLUB featuring members of TOM'S PARTY. Guitarist IAN PAPWORTH said he and guitarist BILL REID put the idea to the club while selling raffle tickets for the local boardrider's raffle.

The club has agreed to trial the weekly blues nights, from 8pm.

Members of Tom's Party, drummer ROD BULL and bass player TONY HOY, will perform.

Papworth says the group hopes to draw members of the Blues Club that operated for a time at the Star Hotel a few years back when it had a membership of around 40 or 50 regulars. TE
