Great Bloke at Belmont

Who: Greame Conners
Where: Belmont 16ft Sailing Club
When: Saturday October 9, 1999

COLD CHISEL singer songwriter DON WALKER describes GRAEME CONNORS as 'a fantastic songwriter and a great bloke'.

'His songs and his lyrics and the stories he tells ring true where they live,' Walker said.

Connors, performing this Saturday night at Belmont 16 Footers, is one of Australia's greatest singer songwriters, but you may not realise it because many of his material has been performed by others.

SLIM DUSTY has recorded 13 Connors songs including WE'VE DONE US PROUD for the 1988 Bicentennial Celebrations, while JON ENGLISH sang Connors' first chart hit HOT TOWN. This Saturday night Connors will perform songs from his ninth CD A DELICATE BALANCE, released in June on ABC MUSIC through EMI. Connors' songs span country, folk and pop styles, with narratives that embrace personal and political issues.

Saturday night's two-hour set will cover material from his albums NORTH, SOUTH OF THESE DAYS, TROPICALI, THE RETURN, HOMELAND, THE HERE AND NOW, THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED and ONE OF THE FAMILY. TE
