JAMES THORNBURY began his music career as a teenager in Cincinnati and by the age of 25 was playing guitar, harmonica and singing in bands across the United States.
The story of Thornbury's arrival in Australia via Blues Central is nothing short of amazing.
Now known as JAMES T, his band THE LAST VOLUNTEERS, will play this Saturday night at the Azzurri Sports Club.
After a shift to Oregon in his mid-20s Thornbury spent another decade racking up live experience in the bars and roadhouses of Oregon and Washington State.
During this time he met HENRY VESTINE from CANNED HEAT , which provided him with the chance to tour with the group on and off for close to 10 years.
Playing rhythm guitar, bottle neck guitar and harmonica, as well as lead vocals with CANNED HEAT, provided JAMES T with international experience.
Now Australia is lucky enough to have JAMES T all to itself.
Thornbury has taken up residence of the NSW Mid-North coast, releasing an album FIRST UP through BLUE TONGUE RECORDS. TE
