ART OF FIGHTING caused much talking among critics at this year's MUSIC CRITICS INDUSTRY AWARDS. Not up for a gong, it was the group's performance at the ceremony, televised from Adelaide's Cultural Centre by CHANNEL V, that caused the stir. SYDNEY MORNING HERALD rock critic BRUCE ELDER and Melbourne INPRESS rock writer ANTHONY HORAN were both chuffed by the band's dynamic performance. TE, in town for MUSIC BUSINESS ADELAIDE, saw the Melbourne group perform the following night at the HOLDFAST TAVERN where it turned in a sublime show of cinematic stylings of brooding intensity. THE ART OF FIGHTING, playing tonight with BLUEBOTTLE KISS and GLAD at SJ's Hotel, has a CD THE VERY STRANGE YEAR, out now through HALF A COW RECORDS.
