FORMER roof tiler CARL BARRON has taken a major career shift to become one of Australia's 'fastest rising comedians'.
Since appearing on THE FOOTY SHOW and HEY HEY ITS SATURDAY about two years ago, things have been happening pretty fast for the 35-year-old.
He was last year flown to Scotland to appear at the 1998 EDINBURGH COMEDY FESTIVAL, where he was chosen in front of hundreds of other comedians to perform on the 'BEST OF THE FEST' - Edinburgh's comedy showcase.
On his return he toured Queensland performing a 21-date sell-out season and last month he released his debut CD titled CARL BARRON LIVE. 'I was a roof tiler for about 13 years and just hated it,' he said.
'I wanted to quit for so many years and once I started doing television it just all happened. I started working part time and then suddenly you realise I can't go back anymore".'
Speaking to TE last week BARRON said he realised he had the ability to make people laugh and get money for it after a 'try out' night at the Harold Park Hotel in Glebe, Sydney.
CARL BARRON will appear at the Knights Leagues Club tonight, Belmont 16ft Sailing Club tomorrow night, Mayfield Ex-Services Club on Friday night and Cardiff Workers Club on Saturday.
