Dogbite Stars in City Gigs

Who: The Testeagles, Chin Chen
Where: The Black Box
When: Monday July 12, 1999

RECENT signings to multi-national affiliate SONY MUSIC AUSTRALIA and DOGBITE 99 standouts the TESTEAGLES will play an all-ages gig at the BLACK BOX on Monday, July 12, followed by an over-18s show at the Hunter On Hotel on Wednesday, July 21, with Newy band CHIN CHEN. It will be Chin Chen lead singer BEN HOLLAND's first gig back in Australia with the group following an overseas jaunt with his other group THE PORKERS, fresh from a score of United States gigs including the VANS WARPED TOUR. Bass playing Ben and the rest of THE PORKERS, should have plenty of interesting backstage tales to tell about hanging with fellow Aussies FRENZAL RHOMB, GRINSPOON and THE LIVING END, during the 12-date run with Vans Warped, rubbing shoulders with BLINK 182, PENNYWISE, ICE T and CYPRESS HILL! Meanwhile, punters of all ages will be able to psyche up to Testeagles on Monday, thanks to BIG APACHE and NEWCASTLE CITY COUNCIL, who have teamed up to provide school holidays entertainment at the Black Box.

Originating in Adelaide in 1994, the Testeagles music is a powerful combination of guitars, samples and hip hop.

It had two powerful EPs FRIENDS and BEE STING out through KRELL RECORDS before signing a licensing deal with SONY. Last year the band described STOMP from the Friends EP as 'a rapidly moving instrumental piece that gives the listener that sensation that is felt when you are aboard an out of control moving vehicle of some sort'.
