NEXT Tuesday night's COMEDY HOTEL gig at SJ's Hotel will be one of the last live shows for Sydney-based stand-up comedian PETER BERNER before his new political satire begins next month on ABC TELEVISION. THE GUIDE in the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD reported a fortnight ago the show would have 'shades of THE GILLIES REPORT' to it.

'Details are sketchy but sources say it will put a comedy spin on the world at large, especially politics and current affairs, with the show being filmed a couple of days before airing each week to keep it as topical as possible,' the report said.

THE HERALD SUN leaked a tentative title a fortnight ago for the show, BACK BERNER FOR AUNTY, with the first show said to be Thursday, August 19.

Joining Berner on stage will be MC 'HOLLYWOOD' BRETT SHEARGOLD and stand-up comedian ANDHO. TE
