Tributes Flow on Web

Who: The Tributes
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Friday July 30, 1999

IF the words 'flashing neon lights' and 'pulsating lava lamps' stirs the lounge lizard within you, then make THE TRIBUTES hilarious new Internet website your next net-surfing destination.

Launched earlier this month, the site features song lists, band biographies and downloadable video clips, as well as songs in the MP3 format, that you can listen to and watch on your computer at home.

In other sections there are areas for viewing and ordering Tributes merchandise and for fans to provide feedback on the shows, the website or anything you would care to raise with the band.

The band also plans to release a CD later in the year that interacts with the website that you can see right now at www.thetributes.com.au The home page sets the irreverent tone of the site with the warning: 'The amazing rock and roll spectacle that brings the legends to life and then buries them.'

The band biographies are true to Tribute form, featuring pictures of members in various guises, including this one (pictured) of lead singer RICHARD BOYLE as 'Richard Legsaparte'.

Boyle describes the band's sense of humour as 'PYTHON-esque', an aspect which comes across in the band's live shows.

The group will perform publicly at the CYSTIC FIBROSIS BALL at Wests Leagues Club on Friday, July 30.
