Fans Hear Jets First

Who: The Screaming Jets
Where: Toronto District Workers Club
When: Friday January 29, 1999

HUNTER fans of THE SCREAMING JETS will be first among the band's followers to hear the new material now being recorded on their fifth album, when they perform at Toronto and Cessnock this weekend.

Hot on the heels of their recent album, WORLD GONE CRAZY the Jets will play Toronto Workers on Friday and Cessnock Supporters Club on Saturday.

Marking a welcome return to their old stomping ground, the Jets have been off the road for most of the past two years.

Concentrating on the creative elements of their songwriting, recording and planning, the Jets took stock last year, ending a long partnership with BMG Records, employing a new manager, and committing to consolidate their goals in 1999.

The boys began recording thir fifth album late last year, on their own terms. With the guidance of producer ROSS WILSON, who has worked with DADDY COOL, the new album will be released this year on the band's own, as-yet-unnamed, label.

A new recording deal is likely to follow this year. Strong overseas interest, particularly in the US, could see them signing with an American label with a subsequent release Stateside.

In the meantime, the Jets are taking time out to play their new songs to their home crowd, before returning to Melbourne to finish off their album.

Guitarist GRANT WALMSLEY said the new songs were far more full-on than in the past. JETS tickets are available at the clubs.TE
