AUSTRALIAN frenetic rockers THE LIVING END have spent the past few months touring their red-hot punkabilly pop-rock across the United States and Europe.
Playing more than 30 dates in a month as part of the VANS WARPED TOUR in the US, THE LIVING END has spent most of this month touring to New Zealand, Germany, Belgium, Holland and the United Kingdom.
Next month the band will perform four shows in Japan before returning for an Australian tour which takes in Newcastle on Thursday, September 23.
Formed in 1994, school friends Chris and Scott began gigging around Melbourne, gaining a live reputation, and eventually supporting GREEN DAY in February 1996.
In late 1996 the band released IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD which contained the TRIPLE J hit FROM HERE ON IN which led to appearances at PUSHOVER, THE FALLS FESTIVAL and club shows.
By the end of 1997, enlisting a new drummer Trav, and after a year of constant touring, the band recorded SECOND SOLUTION/PRISONER OF SOCIETY, which went double platinum in 1998 and peaked at number five in the national singles charts. It won them the 1998 ARIA for Highest Selling Single.
Last year the band recorded its self-titled debut album which debuted at number one on the ARIA charts.
The band scooped the pool a couple of months back at the MUSIC INDUSTRY CRITICS AWARD in Adelaide. TE
