Naiad's devastating demo CD of crushing guitars, brooding female vocals and dark metal dirge is a must for lovers of bands such as KYUSS, who the group cites as a touchstone.
Lead singer Judi's gut-wrenching vocals and irony filled lyrics - 'here's another nail in your confidence' - add another dimension to Naiad's scary sound.
Meanwhile COMPOST showed fine form at the uni band comp, selected by the majority of 10 judges a fortnight ago as strongest competitor with a monstrous live sound, tight performance and recording viability. DAVOLA has performed strongly in the XPOZAY band competition, progressing through to the semi-finals with a highly original sound, contained on an independently released CD FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY. Davola is one of 10 groups on the next BOTTLETOP RECORDS compilation SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF, featuring a track SKIN from its debut CD.
