FOR the past four years the BELLINGEN GLOBAL CARNIVAL has been staging a world music, dance and arts festival at the Bellingen show grounds during the October long weekend.
This year the line-up is bigger and better than ever, with artists including VM BHATT (India), RUBY HUNTER (Australia), MOSES O'JAH (West Africa), BISSEROV SISTERS (Bulgaria), WAAK WAAK JUNGI (Australia), BALALAIKA ENSEMBLE (Russia) and CELTIC CITY SONS (Europe).
Beginning at 6pm on Friday, October 2, the carnival also features high-wire aerial acts, cabaret circus acts, comedy street theatre, contemporary art and craft, poetry and story telling.
A discussion forum, held on the Sunday of the event, chaired by GEORGE NEGUS, debates issues relevant to modern Australia and cultural diversity.
