YOU'VE seen him spinning discs at THE WORLD'S BIGGEST DISCO at Newcastle Workers Club but there's more to disc jockey ROBERT MITREVSKI than meets the eye.
Next month Mitrevski will launch his own CD, a remix of a cover version of the BEACH BOYS classic SURFIN' USA. The CD will feature members of YIANTE and JACKAL. but the concept is all Mitrevski's.
Convinced by the pulling power of the 1970s remake of the song by LEIF GARRETT, but frustrated with the lack of a contemporary mix, Mitrevski decided to produce his own version.
'Nineties disc jockeys are a lot more technically in tune than we used to be,' he said.
'We want quality sound.'
The CD, to be launched under the moniker of BEAVER, PECKER & NUTS, will feature a dance, instrumental, acappella and live version of the song.
Musicians who perform on the CD were DAVE CARTER on guitar and bass, JOSH CALLAWAY on keyboards, JACKAL singer MATT SHAW and IAN SANDERCOE on backing vocals and production.TE
