AFTER three years in top covers band HUSSY lead singer PAULA BEST has called it a day, signalling the end of the group, which plays its last gigs next weekend.
Saturday, December 12, at the Casbah City Hotel and Sunday, December 13, at The Beach Hotel will be Hussy's swan song. The Group plays its last Delany Hotel gig this Saturday night.
Keyboard player JOSH CALLOWAY will head to Brisbane to live.
For Best, who works full-time for the entertainment agency the EASTERN ACOUSTIC ORGANISATION, it will be a welcome return to weekends free from performance schedules.
'I'll be able to go out and play with my friends and my horse JACKSON,' she said. With an average of five shows a month gigging didn't leave much time to visit her trusty steed, who lives on a farm at Paterson.
The return to horseriding did not mean a country music persona for Best. That avenue was exhausted in THE FRIENDLIES some years ago. TE
