Country Rock Duo

Who: Hot and Bothered
Where: Hamilton RSL Club
When: Saturday August 8, 1998

COUNTRY rock duo HOT & BOTHERED will perform at Hamilton RSL Club on Saturday night. Guitarist GILES SMITH and vocalist NICOLE BEIGER perform an easy-listening mix of contemporary country, rock and pop music.

Smith is a regular studio performer with Australian country crooner JOHN WILLIAMSON but recently returned to Newcastle to pursue other activities.

The bass player and songwriter has reunited the BLUE ROOM jazz project which has been on hold for the past couple of years.

Blue Room features Hunter jazz luminaries KIM PINK on saxophone, NICK CECIRE on drums and COL STEIN on keyboards. The jazz outfit, which performs Smith's originals and jazz standards, plans to perform a set of material soon with the NOVOCASTRIAN ARTS ORCHESTRA. It is planned to have Beiger sing vocals on the Blue Room material.

Smith, who is still called on to play in the studio and make television appearances with Williamson, will open a recording studio in coming weeks. TE
