CLARK Gormley has built up a following around Newcastle entertaining punters with his quirky humour, word play and knack for bagging a catchy tune.

Gormley will slip into musician mode this weekend when he launches his new eight- track album This on Sunday afternoon at the Lass O'Gowrie. It follows his album Turn of Phase which was released with a matching book showcasing his poems, songs and short stories.

Two of those songs from the release were picked in the top five of their categories at the 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards. Clark also plays washtub bass, harmonica and sings in bluegrass outfit The Hollerin' Pines who will also perform at Sunday's launch.

Besides the occasional pub or festival gig, Gormley is also the MC at Poetry at the Pub .

His launch kicks off at 2pm and copies of the new CD will be available for $10 at the show.
