Not So Common Band Crack Code

Who: The Common Code, Unwritten Law, The Meanies, Radio Birdman
What: Showdown At Sundown
Where: Newcastle Panthers
When: Sunday October 2, 2005

IN less than a year emerging Newcastle rock band The Common Code has notched quite an impressive list of achievements.

Since forming late last year and playing their first show to a crowd of 200 at a local Newcastle pub, the four-piece has gone from strength to strength playing festivals, headlining their own shows and sharing the bill with the likes of Evermore, Killing Heidi, The Screaming Jets, The Spazzys and Kisschasy. So it should all come quite easily to the band when it plays the second Showdown At Sundown mini-festival at Newcastle Panthers on Sunday night.

The Common Code, which features Pete Stals (vocals/guitar), Daniel Kish (vocals/ bass), Justin Lynch (guitar) and Nick Cooney (drums), will play the all-ages event alongside a host of local, national and international acts including Unwritten Law, The Meanies and Radio Birdman. ``We are super-stoked about the show,'' Stals said.

``It's going to be so much fun, we can't wait.'' Tickets are on sale through Newcastle Panthers on 4926 2700, online at bixtix.com.au or at the club on the night.
