NOVCASTRIAN fans will be the last to see hardcore punk outfit The Hot Lies in action before the band tucks itself away in the studio to record its debut album.

The band picked Newcastle as the final destination on its current East Coast tour.

With an album yet to be released, fans have had to make do with the band's EP Streets Become Hallways which spawned the Triple J favourite Bullets and Black Lines, The release arrived last year amidst a hectic national touring schedule for The Hot Lies.

After just five shows in and around Adelaide fine tuning the live show and road testing the new material to audiences, the band hit the road for a national tour supporting US act Pilot To Gunner. This was quickly followed by dates with LA rockers The Bronx and also dates with Pacifier, Somerset and Gyroscope all within six months of the band's first show.

No strangers to touring and working big stages, the band was born from the ashes of hardcore rock act The Killchoir Project with three former members teaming together in The Hot Lies.

Peter Wood (vocals) Benjamin Pix (guitar) and Jared Brown (drums) along with former I Killed the Prom Queen bass player Leaton Rose and ex- Day of Contempt guitarist Josh Delsar completed the line up.

Their decision to play at The Bandroom @ Newcastle Leagues Club was spurred from the fantastic response the band has previously enjoyed at local shows.

Recent dates in Newcastle have included support slots with 28 Days and a huge gig at Newcastle Foreshore during Arrive Alive where they played before a massive crowd alongside Regurgitator, Koolism and Butterfingers. When The Hot Lies perform in Newcastle on Saturday they will present an all ages and over 18s show alongside bands including Draw The Line, 1/2 Shot, Dirty Pink Jeans, Immune, Cadence and The Common Code. Tickets will be available at the door.
