Slyde Nears Tour End

Who: Slyde, Kato, Auxilary, J*Jay, Patsan, D*Steady, Breakwell
What: Nutshell Breaks
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
When: Saturday July 16, 2005

BREAKBEAT combo Slyde is approaching the tail-end of its Australian tour.

Slyde began its trek in Melbourne earlier this month and has taken in five dates across the country, including a stint supporting Krafty Kuts in Sydney last weekend.

It will all come to an end when Slyde headlines monthly dance party Nutshell Breaks at the Cambridge Hotel on Saturday night.

Comprising Robin 12Tree and Jason Laidback, it was a mutual love of breaks that united the pair to join forces with leading UK label Finger Lickin. Robin 12Tree made his start when he signed a deal under the moniker 12Tree and released dancefloor hits with Back In Town Again, Club Bastard and Izzy Was AGroover. A spate of remix work followed for acts including Moloko and Shirley Bassey. Before teaming with Robin 12Tree, Laidback was an accomplished scratch DJ by the tender age of 13.

He has since gone on to remix hits by De La Soul and Naughty By Nature, and toured the UK on the back of his club hit A Juicy Red Apple. Slyde will be supported by Newcastle's Kato, Auxilary, J*Jay, Patsan, D*Steady and Breakwell on Saturday from 9pm.

Tickets are on sale at PDMS, threesixtysounds, Ramjet, Abicus, Volume and the Cambridge Hotel.
