A TRAVELLIN' MAN COUNTRY music and gospel artist PAUL McCLOUD will perform in Newcastle this month at BELMONT 16FT SAILING CLUB. Since 1982 he has released 13 albums renowned for their ``story songs'' told in a style ``where you can hear every word''.

McCloud spent his formative years on his parents' farm at Tambar Springs near Tamworth where his supporters gather each Easter for a bush weekend of campfires and country music. He released his first album, The Sensitive Sound, in 1982 and has since become one of Australia's most successful independent recording artists.

Over the years he has worked alongside some of Australia's best musicians, producers and engineers such as ERIC SCOTT, LINDSAY if BUTLER, STEVE NEWTON, LARRY LARSTEAD, CHRIS JONES and VIC LANYON. For most of the past 23 years McCloud travelled Australia and presented his one-man show to dedicated supporters.

His strongest supporter and travelling companion has been his wife Hele, who accompanies him on the road with their Himalayan cat Chloe.

McCloud has appeared at every TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL since 1983.

Often referred to by his peers and fans as the `Master Performer', McCloud's two-hour concert is filled with fun, laughter and song.

He will perform at Belmont 16ft Sailing Club on Sunday, January 30. The show starts at 2pm and tickets cost $17.20 at the venue.
