IT worked for Spiderbait , so hopefully The Casanovas will have the same luck after enlisting US producer Sylvia Massey Shivy to mix their latest single.

Shivy, who has previously worked with Smashing Pumpkins, Tool and Foo Fighters, was responsible for mixing Spiderbait's huge hit Black Betty and recently teamed with the Melbourne rock trio on the track Heartbeat. Taken from the band's debut album, Heartbeat was given a bit of a reworking by Shivy.

As The Casanovas work toward their second album, drummer Jordon `Jaws' Stanley said it remained unclear whether Shivy would work on the project.

``We're still looking around at the moment so I'm not sure who will produce it at this stage,'' Stanley said.

He said the album was coming along well and the band planned to head to the US to record after it completed tours through the UK, Europe, Japan, Brazil and New Zealand next month.

Before heading overseas, The Casanovas will embark on an Australian tour which starts in Newcastle at the Bar on the Hill tomorrow night with guests 67 Special. Tickets will be available at the door.
