A BIRTHDAY is always a big occasion and Nutshell Breaks will ensure its is one of the biggest when it celebrates its fourth year as Newcastle's leading breakbeat night next month.

Continuing the tradition of previous celebrations, Sydney breaks wizard Kid Kenobi will return to headline the festivities.

Kenobi was the main attraction when Nutshell hosted its first event at the Cambridge Hotel back in 2001.

Organiser Dan Matthews has moved Nutshell back to the place where it all began and said he expected a huge turnout when the event is held on Saturday, May 14.

Joining Kid Kenobi will be sidekick MC Shureshock along with Newcastle's own Auxilary, Kato, Fallon, J*Jay and Patsan. Advance tickets cost $15 from threesixtysounds, PDMS, Ramjet, Abicus Selections or the venue.
