Grates At Home

Who: The Grates, Bit By Bats
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Sunday April 24, 2005

BRISBANE newcomers The Grates are back on home soil after a three- week jaunt through to London, Canada and the US.

The three-piece, John , on guitar, Alana on drums and Patience on vocals, was touring with Bit By Bats . After the three-week jaunt, which took the band throughout Los Angeles, London, Canada, New York and Texas, The Grates are back on home soil.

And as Patience happily admits, there is no time for rest as the band works its way around the country touring with Bit By Bats.

``People say to me: `You must be exhausted from going overseas' but I actually found it far too exciting and far too much fun to get exhausted,'' Patience said.

``It kind of built up momentum for this tour. It was like, `Holy shit. We're in a different country,' so we were very much aware of coming back and doing this tour.'' The Grates released their debut EP The Ouch The Touch in February and hope to follow it with an album release in the near future.

Catch The Grates at the Northern Star Hotel with Bit By Bats on Sunday night.
