Find Your Mojo On Dance Floor

Who: Mojo
Where: Toronto District Workers Club
When: Friday April 15, 2005

SINCE making its debut on the live circuit in 2003, Mojo has become one of the region's most popular party bands.

Mojo delivers a high-energy mix of rock, pop and funk from the '70s to today.

Originally named Whisht, the five- piece promises a powerhouse performance every time.

The intensity of the sound is attributed to the slightly unorthodox line-up and vocal strength of frontman Jamie Gavin. He is backed by guitarist and vocalist Robbie Macaulay, Spanish guitarist-turned-bassist James Hayes, saxophone player Terry McLeod and drummer Gavin Hodge. The band formed after graduating from high school in 2001 and quickly made a name for itself on the live scene in Newcastle and Sydney.

Under guidance from leading Newcastle musicians, Mojo has worked hard to produce a show that has plenty of music, energy and flair.

Versatility is the key to the band's success.

From Powderfinger to KC and the Sunshine Band, No Doubt to The Screaming Jets, Jamiroquai to Robbie Williams and even Britney Spears, the band has the right ingredients to get the dance floor moving.

Catch Mojo at Toronto Workers Club on Friday night and Sydney Junction Hotel on Saturday night.
