Chambers Plays In His Own Right

CENTRAL Coast-based muso BILL CHAMBERS, father of chart-topping country starlet KASEY CHAMBERS, will play three gigs in the region this month.

He will play HARRIGANS IRISH PUB at Pokolbin on October 7, AVOCA THEATRE on the Central Coast on October 8 and HEXHAM BOWLING CLUB on October 10.

Chambers has many awards to his name, including GOLDEN GUITARS and plays a distinctive guitar, dobro and lap steel- style, which defined the music of his work in the DEAD RINGER BAND. Chambers is also an established artist in his own right as well as for his work with Kasey and the Dead Ringer Band.

The tour will see him deliver tracks from his new album, Sleeping with Blues, to be released later this year.

Chambers will be joined on stage by guitarist GLEN HANNAH, drummer B.J.

BARKER and bass player GREG FRANKS, who will also join support act HIP SISTER on stage for a few songs.

Hip Sister is a Central Coast-based trio featuring CAROLYN ``PINE'' PACKER on piano and vocals, NARELLE CAHILL on vocals and percussion and JILL TWEEDIE on vocals.

The trio does amazing harmonies with its unique blend of blues, boogie, country and swing.
