Fuel For A Kooky Night

Who: The Fuelers, The Torpedos
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Friday September 17, 2004

CANBERRA-based band THE FUELERS will crank out a stack of fresh tunes during the launch of its new album at the NORTHERN STAR HOTEL on Friday night.

Actual Size is the third independent release for The Fuelers and is the first to feature the band's newest member, Newcastle's own SU MORLEY, who plays fiddle and vocals.

It features songs all deeply inspired by the '50s and penned by every member of the band.

The album comes complete with the usual mix of tongue-in-cheek adverts for Fueler `products' for which the band has become renowned.

``There is even a spaghetti western paean to the music of Enrico Morricone to keep the country fans satisfied,'' Morley said.

The Fuelers recently rocked the streets of '50s retro-fest WINTERSUN in Coolangatta with their attention-grabbing sideshow- like games and theatrics.

Morley said the band had planned an equally kooky night for the Northern Star and will bring along The Beer Cactus, Pants-On, the Gringo game show and plenty of adverts for bogus sponsor company Big Man Power Tools.

The Fuelers will be joined by Newcastle rockabilly pals THE TORPEDOS.
