Taste Of Epicure

Who: Epicure
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
When: Friday October 8, 2004

BALLARAT outfit EPICURE has decided to squeeze a final tour in before 2005.

The five piece is on the road for its third national tour this year to promote its new EP, Self Destruct In Five , and will perform at the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL on Friday night.

It will be Epicure's first show in Newcastle for several months after the band was forced to cancel its last show when frontman JUAN ALBARN developed a throat infection.

The tour began in Melbourne last weekend and marks keyboard player HEATH McCURDY'S first outing with the group since joining a couple of months ago.

Before the band hit the road again, guitarist DAN HOULIHAN said members had filled their time writing, rehearsing and relaxing. ``It's all been fairly low-key but it has been a nice break,'' Houlihan said.

``We've been trying to get some new stuff together for the next album but we've really been looking forward to getting out there and doing some shows with Heath as well.'' Epicure, formed by high-school friends in Ballarat eight years ago, released the stunning album The Goodbye Girl earlier this year.

The songs Armies Against Me and Life Sentence gained places on the TRIPLE J HOTTEST 100 poll.

Houlihan said the band hoped to spend time refining songs for the next album after the tour. Tickets are on sale at BEAUMONT ST BEAT, THE ROCK SHOP, SOUNDWORLD and the venue.
