Who: Darren Hanlon, David Dondero
Where: Gallipoli Legion Club
When: Friday October 22, 2004

WHEN it came time for DARREN HANLON to begin recording his latest album, Little Chills , he could easily have opted for a plush recording studio in Sydney or Melbourne.

Instead Hanlon and his drummer BREE VAN REYK opted to head into the Arizona desert to work with US producer CRAIG SCHUMACHER. Hanlon said he could not be more happy with the resulting album, conceding he liked it much more than his debut album, Hello Stranger , which was released in 2002.

``I definitely like it a lot more, because I had to sit down and write the whole thing in the one go,'' Hanlon said.

``I spent more time on the lyrics . th. th. writing about different things that I probably wouldn't normally have written about back then.

``You become more analytical about everything, about your life, but when I started I wasn't thinking about anything, just playing and drinking and hanging out.'' During his time in the US, Hanlon caught up with fellow Aussie artist SARAH BLASKO and contributed a couple of bits and pieces to her debut album Overture and the Underscore. He even tried to pop in a visit to renowned party boys GRINSPOON. ``Grinspoon were there as well, recording their album in LA,'' Hanlon said.

``We bashed at their door at 3am because we thought they'd be up for a party, but they were working in the morning and didn't appreciate our visit.'' Hanlon is supporting the release of Little Chills with a tour which began in Melbourne and will arrive at the GALLIPOLI LEGION CLUB on Friday night.

Hanlon will be supported by special guest US performer DAVID DONDERO. Tickets are limited and will be available at the door for $12.
