A certain Edge To Cloud's Offerings

Who: Ken Cloud
What: Sunday Harbour Beats
Where: QWB - Queens Wharf Brewery
When: Sunday February 15, 2004

IT'S common practice for KEN CLOUD to share the decks with some of the biggest names in dance music.

In the past he has supported JOHN DIGWEED and CJ BOLLAND and last month joined APHEX TWIN and BASEMENT JAXX on the Sydney leg of the BIG DAY OUT with his outfit POXYMUSIC. His rise to the top didn't happen overnight.

Cloud began his DJ career 12 years ago in Canberra, a city he concedes is not particularly renowned for its buzzing night life.

``Back then there was no such thing as a superstar DJ, especially in Canberra,'' Cloud said.

``They all played five nights a week, all night, no guest spots . th. th. it was for the music and nothing else.'' In Sydney, Cloud established the notorious MAD RACKET parties and formed production and remix team Poxymusic.

He held residencies at CHINESE LAUNDRY and TWEEKIN and was voted Most Popular DJ by his peers in the JUICE MAGAZINE industry poll.

Cloud said his musical taste is across the board.

``I prefer the stranger side of house and techno, something with a little bit of an edge,'' he said.

``I also like most of the underground styles of music.'' Cloud will make his debut at SUNDAY HARBOUR BEATS at THE BREWERY on Sunday.

AJAX will play the event on February 22 and PHIL SMART on February 29.

Entry is free. Cloud will be supported by DJs AUXILARY and KATO of NUTSHELL BREAKS fame.
