Who: Elvis Costello, Joe Camilleri, Diesel, Stephen Cummings And Mick Thomas
What: A Day On The Green
Where: Bimbadgen Estate Winery
When: Saturday November 20, 2004

A DAY ON THE GREEN will welcome the arrival of summer with its sixth event in the Hunter Valley on Saturday, November 20 at BIMBADGEN ESTATE. The outdoor event will be headlined by ELVIS COSTELLO as he kicks off his most extensive Australian tour yet.

He will be supported by former BLACK SORROWS frontman JOE CAMILLERI, DIESEL, STEPHEN CUMMINGS and MICK THOMAS of WEDDINGS, PARTIES, ANYTHING fame.

In a career spanning more than 25 years, Costello has always followed his musical curiosity.

He is perhaps best known for his work with THE ATTRACTIONS, THE IMPOSTERS and for recent concert appearances with pianist STEVE NIEVE. Add to that collaborations with BURT BACHARACH, THE BRODSKY QUARTET, Swedish soprano ANNE SOFIE VON OTTER and record producer-songwriter T thBONE BURNETT and it is no wonder Costello continues to inspire and delight.

This year Costello has reunited with the Imposters to record a new studio album The Delivery Man , which features appearances by LUCINDA WILLIAMS and EMMY-LOU HARRIS. Set for release next month, it returns to what Costello does best create poignant, classic pop.

With the Imposters, comprising Nieve, bassist DAVEY FARRAGHER and drummer PETE THOMAS, Costello is in top form.

His Australian concerts will feature songs covering his entire career.

Costello's appearance at A Day On The Green adds to an impressive run of shows for the event since it began at Bimbadgen Estate in February 2002.

Shows have been headlined by PAUL KELLY, THE WHITLAMS, JACKSON BROWNE, THE BEACH BOYS and JEWEL. More than 100,000 people have attended the 30 A Day On The Green concerts.

``We always strive to make each A Day On The Green event the best possible outdoor concert experience we can,'' Promoter MICHAEL NEWTON said.

``In Bimbadgen we have a magnificent venue and our last two shows with Jackson Browne and Jewel were both sold out.

``I'm sure this year will be the same so I urge everyone to secure their tickets early.'' A Day On The Green will run from 3pm.

It is a fully licensed event.

Tickets are on sale from TICKETEK on 4921 th2121 or online (ticketek.com.au).
