What: Localbeats
Where: King Street Hotel
When: Sunday April 11, 2004

NEWCASTLE'S finest will mix it up with some of Australia's best when LOCALBEATS is held at KING STREET HOTEL this weekend.

The special Easter Sunday episode will feature 12 hours of quality house music and breaks.

Localbeats will take place across two rooms, featuring KATCH AND DAVE of 2 DOGS and RESIN DOGS fame downstairs alongside DJ MARK WALTON and Newcastle's own DECAFF, J*JAY, KATO and AUXILARY. House will be the predominate style upstairs with Sydney's DJs GOODWILL and JULES BEAUMONT on deck with locals MATT KAVON and MATT MANDELL. HOME nightclub resident and 2002 DANCE MUSIC AWARDS NSW DJ of the Year winner DJ Goodwill promises to bring a chunky blend of funk-infused house to Localbeats.

Goodwill has become a staple feature at some of Sydney's biggest nightclubs and has played at events such as BIG DAY OUT, VIBES ON A SUMMERS DAY, LIVID and MOBILE HOME. Stylistically, he takes his influence from ERIC MORILLO, CASSIUS, DERRICK CARTER and ADAM FREELAND. As an up-and-coming DJ, Goodwill pioneered breaks and drum'n'bass in Sydney with compatriots KID KENOBI, Q45 and RITUAL. He released the mix album Alfresco Soiree in 2003.

Doors open at noon and advance tickets are available for $20 from PDMS, RAMJET and King Street Hotel.

They are $30 on the door.
