Travelling in the Fast Lane

Who: Antiskeptic
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Thursday September 4, 2003

THERE seems to be no slowing down for Melbourne act ANTISKEPTIC .

Since it formed in late 1999, the pop-punk trio has released a debut album and completed a series of tours, including appearances at the M-ONE festival.

``We couldn't be happier with the response we're getting at the moment,'' vocalist and guitarist NICK KITCHEN said.

``People have really got behind us and to be able to travel around as much as we have been is a dream.

'' The band made a triumphant return with the release of its latest single Nothing To Say when it climbed to the top of the TRIPLE J NET 50 chart.

Antiskeptic celebrated by kicking off its most extensive tour to date following the release of its second album Aurora which was released on August 24.

The band began a national tour with GYROSCOPE and THINK TANK last month and will perform at the NORTHERN STAR HOTEL tomorrow night.

Although Antiskeptic has attracted attention for its Christian beliefs, it hasn't managed to take away from the band's talent for crafting melodic tunes with positive lyrics.

``There's too many punk bands out there and we didn't want to be a punk band anyway,''drummer NICK COPPIN said.

``We wanted some of that energy without all of that sound.

Lyrically, we're into positivity.

'' Entry to tomorrow night's show is $10.
