Who: The Hope Conspiracy
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
When: Friday September 19, 2003

US hardcore punk outfit THE HOPE CONSPIRACY will kick off its first Australian tour in Brisbane tonight before it lands in Newcastle at the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL on Friday night.

In the past 12 months, the band has had a relentless tour schedule that has taken it around the globe performing across the US, the UK and Europe.

Heavy touring has seen the band tour with SICK OF IT ALL, CONVERGE and BOY SETS FIRE , and follows on from the release of the band's latest album Endnote.

According to bass player JONAS FEINBERG , the album maintains the band's staple sound.

``Every release we've had is a bit different from the last, but we like to modify the sound a bit and keep the same ideas going,'' Feinberg said.

``I guess you could say that you can tell it is the same band as the last record.

'' The Hope Conspiracy hails from Boston and was formed by former members of bands such as PIECEMEAL, MAN WITHOUT PLAN, HARVEST, THE A TEAM and THE SUICIDE FILE.

Although Feinberg rates BLACK FLAG and UNBROKEN as obvious i luences, he said the band was also i luenced by a variety of emotionally charged acts.

``There are lots of obvious i luences and less obvious ones like THE SMITHS, JOY DIVISION and THE CURE .

the real emotional bands really hit it with us fellas!'' Feinberg said the band hopes to begin recording when it completes its Australian tour, which will be followed by more touring throughout New Zealand, Europe and the US.

``We are hoping to hit the studio during the winter months,'' Feinberg said.

``We are hoping to get another release out by next spring.
