The Things They Do For Love

Who: 10CC
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Tuesday October 21, 2003

IN 2002, legendary British pop act 10CC celebrated 30 years in the business.

To mark the occasion, the band embarked on an extensive tour of the UK to revisit all its biggest hits.

Australian fans will have the chance to see the band when it arrives down under next month to perform at WEST LEAGUES CLUB on October 21.

Although the tour won't bring the original line-up to the stage, it will feature the band's singer- songwriter GRAHAM GOULDMAN.

Gouldman was the man behind some of the band's biggest hits including I'm Not in Love, The Things We Do For Love and Dreadlock Holiday.

His music career began at a young age.

He fronted THE WHIRLWINDS in the mid-1960s before he formed THE MOCKINGBIRDS .

A talented songwriter from the start, Gouldman had his first top 10 hit at the tender age of 19 when THE YARDBIRDS recorded his song For Your Love .

This kick started a successful songwriting career that saw him go on to pen hits for JEFF BECK, THE MINDBENDERS and THE HOLLIES.

During a recording trip to New York, Gouldman formed the basis of what was to become 10cc.

The band produced a string of hits including Rubber Bullets, I'm Mandy Fly Me, Wall Street Shuffle, Art For Art's Sake and many more.

Between 1972 and 1976 the band released four albums and had three top ten hits in the UK.

In 1976, two members left the band, although ERIC STEWART and Gouldman retained the 10cc name and continued to produce hits such as Good Morning Judge.

lw-2 After a serious car accident involving Simpson, the band split in 1984 before reforming in the early 1990s to record a new 10cc album.

Tickets are on sale at the club.
