Carus Builds on European Tour

Who: Carus
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Wednesday September 10, 2003

AUSTRALIAN singer-songwriter CARUS has returned from a seven-week solo tour of Europe and proved that it's good to have friends in high places.

The tour surfaced when it was set up by the father of one of Carus's friends who works as a sound engineer in France.

Carus went on to perform 22 dates throughout France, Switzerland, Germany, England and Scotland.

As well as playing solo shows, he caught up with a couple of fellow Australian acts along the way and landed a number of top support slots.

``I went over there with a bunch of CDs and had a crack and it paid off because some really good things happened for me along the way,'' Carus said.

`` MICK HART helped me out with a couple of gigs and then THE WAIFS asked me to support them at a show in London before 1000 people, which was amazing.

'' Carus returned to Australia last week and kicked off a six-week national tour which will arrive at the NORTHERN STAR HOTEL tonight.

Carus said he wrote four new tracks while he was overseas and he is preparing to release a live solo acoustic double album at the end of October.

He will embark on another Australia tour in November to support the album's release followed by a return to Europe for a six-week tour.

He said he plans to start recording a new album when he returns.

``I want the next album to be a killer.

I'd really like to get into the studio and demo about 40 tracks.
