Who: Supersonic
Where: Beach Hotel
When: Friday March 21, 2003

LOCAL band Supersonic has been calling the Beaches Hotel at Merewether ``home'' for the past four years. So, what better place to launch their latest EP than in the place they know best? The four piece, which beat off a nation of other entrants in the Hard Rock Cafaacé Future Rock band comp last year, has returned with a new EP

titled Waking Hour.Recorded at Sony Music Studios, the EP will be launched at the Beaches Hotel on Friday night.Hosting album launches at the hotel seems to be somewhat of a tradition for the band.``We launched the last CD there and it went down really well so we'll be doing that again,'' frontman Mark Wells

said.``The new CD, which we've been working on over the last few months, will be available on that night.''Supersonic has spent much of March touring the South East Coast and will complete the jaunt with a gig on home soil.

``We've been doing a lot of gigs out of town and the last show of the current tour is back here in Newcastle at the Beaches Hotel.''``We've been playing a residency there for four years and it's been our

bread and butter.''Wells said the band will be supported by Sydney band Ezmerelda and Supersonic will perform a full original set along with `a few surprises'.``We usually play four hour shows there but this show will be a little different.''

Copies of Waking Hour will be available at the gig. www.supersonicmusic.com.au
