Beat Track to Brewery

Who: Sugar Ray
What: Sunday Harbour Beats
Where: QWB - Queens Wharf Brewery

THE BREWERY offers the ideal wind-down from the weekend with the introduction of SUNDAY HARBOUR BEATS.

Sunday Harbour Beats will welcome its first Sydney DJ to the decks when SUGAR RAY headlines alongside local DJs KATO and AUXILARY this weekend.

Manager and promoter TY BURFORD said he hoped the event would attract a new crowd of revellers keen to relax in the afternoon before picking up the pace in the evening.

``By starting at 5pm we're hoping to bring a whole new crowd to The Brewery, not just a late- night rush,'' Burford said.

``The most appealing factor is that we have 15 beers on tap and a range of cocktails but with club beats in a pub atmosphere.

'' The event attracted 350 patrons on opening night last month and Burford said he received plenty of positive feedback from punters.

``It was a really great night and everybody really enjoyed it.

``Come summertime, this will be as big as Sounds on Sunday in Sydney.

'' NUTSHELL BREAKS regulars Kato and Auxilary will hold residency at The Brewery throughout July and share the decks alongside guest DJs from Newcastle and Sydney.

The event is held each Sunday and kicks off at 5pm until midnight and offers a mix of hip hop, breakbeat and funky house.

ntsDSydney DJs ILLYA and FRENZIE will perform on July 27.

In coming weeks, DJ Kato will set up a portable record stand which will allow punters to buy their favourite tracks on the spot.

nteHappy hour is from 5pm to 7pm and the Brewery Bites menu is available until 9pm.

Entry to Sunday Harbour Beats is free.
