SCREAMING JETS co- founder GRANT WALMSLEY knows all too well that Newcastle a breeding ground for musical talent.

He watched his own band achieve international success and now he is giving new up-and- comers the chance to tackle the national scene with the establishment of his new record label ONE HENRY .

The label is run by Walmsley and classical guitar maestro TERRY LATHAM and has already signed up two of Newcastle's top acts: THE HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL MOUSEMOON and EMPERESS .

Both were winners at last year's inaugural 1233 ABC NEWCASTLE MUSIC AWARDS with Emperess named Act of the Year and Mousemoon picking up two awards.

``There is so much amazing talent in our town which requires a vehicle for it's art so that it can be experienced by a much wider audience,'' Walmsley said.

``It is One Henry's goal to expose these wonderful acts to audiences nationally and hopefully internationally.

'' One Henry will be unearthed during a spectacular launch which has been dubbed THE EGG at the HONEYSUCKLE MARKETS THEATRE on Saturday night.

It will include the launch of new EPs by Mousemoon and Emperess as well as performances from both as well as fellow acts MOJO LIBERATION FRONT, DRAGON KITE MISCHIEF and THOSE GUYS WITH JUNK .

The Egg will also host to a series of other weird and wonderful attractions including DJs, dancers, trapeze artists, spoken word artists, street theatre, comedy and much more.

The show will continue from 8pm until late.

Entry is $11 or $9 for those dressed in costume.
