English Among Friends

Who: Jon English
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Friday November 15, 2002

AUSTRALIAN theatre star and musician JON ENGLISH will take part in a special charity event in Newcastle later this month.

THE FRIENDS OF CAMERON PARK SCHOOL CHARITY CABARET NIGHT will feature a performance from English, a three-course meal and the chance to win great prizes.

The event has been organised to raise funds for students at Cameron Park School at Waratah, a school that supports children who have physical and mental disabilities.

Organisers of the event hope to raise enough money to buy much-needed equipment including a monorail system that will transport children around the school.

The evening will begin with a three-course meal served with complimentary drinks.

English will follow with a performance that is sure to feature all of his big hits, including HANDBAGS AND GLADRAGS, TURN THE PAGE, LAY IT ALL DOWN and WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH. Raffles will be held throughout the evening. One of the major prizes is a framed Newcastle Knights jersey signed by ANDREW JOHNS. The event will be held at WESTS LEAGUES CLUB in the STARLIGHT ROOM on November 15.

Tickets are $65 each and are available from the club.

Doors open at 7pm.
