Greener Pastures at Northern Star

Greener Pastures at Northern Star

Who: Paul Greene
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Friday June 21, 2002

WHEN your popularity soars, sometimes you have no choice but to upgrade.

Frequent Northern Star Hotel resident soloist Paul Greene usually performs in the hotel's front bar but will move his show into the back bar due to popular demand.

And unlike previous appearances, this time Greene will bring his entire band with him.

Greene recently returned from a successful tour of the US where he was busy promoting his debut album The Miles. He spent a month touring the US covering areas such as Texas and California, and Greene admits he was pleasantly surprised by the trip.

'It's really encouraging to realise that the talent in Australia - especially some of the up and coming acts I work with - are as good as anything happening in the rest of the world,' Greene said.

'I always tended to believe that the US was bigger and better but it's just bigger.'

Just like the title of his album, Greene is preparing to rack up many more miles while on his current Australian tour which has been christened Greene Around The Edges. Greene, who is a former Olympic sprint champion, will perform at the Northern Star Hotel on June 21.

Tickets are $7 and available at the door.
