BEFORE Ray Charles performs at Wyndham Estate Winery next month, the cream of Australian talent will get together for their own all-star concert event.

On February 2, Bimbadgen Estate Winery will host A Day On The Green. Performers will include Paul Kelly, Richard Clapton, Renee Geyer and Mark Seymour. Following the success of two similar concerts held in Victoria, the Hunter Region has been chosen as the first venue in NSW to host the event.

Besides some of Australia's most influential performers, the event will also feature delicious food and plenty of locally produced wines.

But punters are not the only ones looking forward to the event.

The performers are also looking forward to the concert, particularly singer-songwriter Paul Kelly.

Kelly took part in the Victorian versions of A Day On The Green and is looking forward to the outdoor festivities.

'It's a good way to play music, it always puts the crowd in a good mood,' Kelly said.

Kelly said he will be joined on stage by Geyer during A Day On The Green, as will Kelly's five-piece band.

Tickets are $63.80 plus a booking fee and are available from Ticketek or Bimbadgen Estate on 4998-4650.

The event will be fully licenced and is strictly no BYO.

However, deck chairs and picnic rugs are welcome and parking is free.
