'Muso Animals' Dig Playing to New Crowds

Who: Mettaphor
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Thursday February 28, 2002

METTAPHOR could not be more excited about the new year.

After being named the Recording Artists and Sunshine Coast Entertainers of the Year in 2001, the band is looking forward to achieving more in 2002.

'In 2001 we discovered we have so much more to give,' Terri said.

'Actually, being on tour gives us the opportunity to be the full-time muso animals that lurk inside us and we give it full rein.'

Currently on tour around Australia, the four-piece will perform at the Northern Star Hotel tomorrow night.

The tour follows a national tour of America where they introduced audiences to their blend of big harmonies, acoustic guitar, bass, saxophone and hand percussion.

But the group, enjoying its anonymity in America, has begun performing to new crowds throughout NSW and is finding the experience to be very pleasant.

'There is something completely liberating about playing in venues where nobody knows you,' Kaleen said.

'We have been road-testing our new material with our trademark driven acoustic, lush layered harmony and sax style with a great response.'
