Versatile Duo to rRecreate Big Sound of Rock

Who: Split Sound

IT'S rare to find two performers who can recreate the big sound of a live rock band.

Whether it be Powderfinger, Pearl Jam or Matchbox 20, it would take a lot of skill and a captivating stage show to recreate the music of such artists.

One duo that can manage this is SplitSound. Made up of Ben Mingay and Paul Korber, SplitSound can become a fully sequenced or fully acoustic guitar duo.

With emotive vocals and performance, SplitSound has had plenty of experience since it was formed more than four years ago.

Last year SplitSound appeared live on the Footy Show after winning the Newcastle Knights Busking Competition at Marathon Stadium.

A popular covers band, the duo also writes and records its own material.

With constant demand from Sydney and Newcastle, the duo has performed at big venues such as The Bat and Ball and secured support slots with Invertigo and Ed Kuepper. SplitSound will perform at the new Hotel Metro at Belmont on Saturday night.
