Tenants, Show Us Your SKA

Who: The Tenants
Where: QWB - Queens Wharf Brewery
When: Wednesday August 21, 2002

IN the summer of 2000, foul-mouthed ska lads THE TENANTS exploded on the indie scene with the track YOU SHIT ME TO TEARS. The catchy track was on high rotation on TRIPLE J and the kind of song that stuck in your head for days on end.

The track eventually made it to No.3 on the Triple J Hottest 100 and became an instant anthem for punters all over the country.

Despite the fact that the band has soldiered on without a record deal, they haven't allowed it to cramp their style.

'We find strength in the rough-and-tumble stories we hear about pioneering pub rock acts such as Bardot and Scandal'Us,' frontman JASE THE ACE said.

'Everyone does it tough, but if we have to streamline our hair and make-up department to a skeleton crew of nine to ensure a tour goes ahead, we are prepared to make that sacrifice.'

With their tongues firmly in cheek, the boys have been back in the studio and will unleash their new single I WANNA GET STARTED next month.

Catch The Tenants at THE BREWERY on August 21 from 10pm.
