Country Favourites in a New Line-up

Who: Vicki Abercrombie and Off The Rails
Where: Windale - Gateshead Bowling Club
Author: Jade Lazerevic

LOCAL vocalist Vicki Abercrombie has teamed up with a new band that will be unveiled during the first show of a new weekly residency at Wallsend Bowling Club on Friday.

With a helping hand from The Droughtbreakers, Vicki will belt out all of your country favourites from 8pm.

Vicki Abercrombie and The Droughtbreakers are in the last stages of recording a new EP.

The EP contains three original singles which have been written by Vicki and guitarist/vocalist Bob Fletcher and lead guitarist Jeff Dunn. Vicki said the group plans to send the EP to the TIARA Awards for the 2002 Tamworth Festival.

They aren't the only ones awaiting a copy - more than 40 country radio stations across the country are waiting too.

Vicki is known for her work with the band Off The Rails and is a popular entertainer in the Hunter, Sydney and Tamworth areas.

The group has already been confirmed to perform at the upcoming Tamworth Festivals, including a number of shows at some of the major venues.

In the meantime you can catch the group at Windale Gateshead Bowling Club in October.
