THE end of the school year has nearly arrived and the Palais Royale will help under-aged music fans to depart the school year on a high.

On Friday night, Melbourne metal group Superheist will headline one of the biggest shows to be held at the venue this year.

Superheist recently released the single Step Back/Slide which is taken from its debut album The Prize Recruit. Early next year the band will perform across the country as a part of the Big Day Out tour.

Another bonus for the band came when it was named as the support act for American metal act Fear Factory next month during its Australian tour.

The band will be joined by Sydney's AgaugeFor whose second EP is due to be released this month.

Superheist will share the bill with local bands Equinibrium, Extortion and Pilgrum. The all-ages show will kick off at 6.15pm and finish at 11pm.

Presale tickets are available from Soundworld stores in Newcastle and Kotara for $12.

Tickets will also be available at the door for $15.
