The Jets Prepare for Final Outing

Who: The Screaming Jets
Where: Newcastle Panthers
When: Saturday June 9, 2001

The Screaming Jets will fittingly play their last show, for now anyway, at Club Nova Newcastle on June 9.

After 12 years and 2000 gigs, half a million record sales and countless world and national tours, Newcastle's Jets have announced their last tour dates before an indefinite break.

In 1984 lead singer Dave Gleeson and guitarist Grant Walmsley started a rock band called Aspect at Hamilton Marist Brothers High School.

Then in 1989, they formed a new group with fellow Novocastrians Paul Woseen, Richard Lara and Brad Heaney. See TE next week where Walmsley talks about the band's future plans, including his own project as frontman for the three-piece Hang Seng.
