Jade Hurley is still going strong after launching his career 40 years ago.

Hurley was just getting going when legendary Australian rocker Johnny O'Keefe was intorduced to Australian television audiences on the program Six O'Clock Rock. Hurley will return to Newcastle for a one-man show next month and will take his audience through the history of popular music, as he performs hits from the 50s through to the 90s.

The show incorporates a mixture of rock-and-roll, country and instrumental performances including classics from Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley. Hurley will also perform a selection of his own successful gold, platinum and double-platinum recordings.

Often dubbed 'Australia's King of Country Rock', Hurley has made many appearances on television from his days on Bandstand to regular appearances on Good Morning Australia. Hurley has also achieved success overseas and appeared on New Zealand's That's Country and Nashville country program, Nashville Now. Hurley's musical talents have won him praise worldwide.

Hurley will live up to that description when he brings his show to the Western Suburbs Leagues Club on June 29.
